They are almost completely different experiences.
Stage hypnosis is entertainment. It selects highly suggestible volunteers, uses pressure and social dynamics to encourage compliance, and is designed to amuse an audience. The participant’s wellbeing is not the priority.
Guided Hypnosis is a therapeutic process designed around your wellbeing and your goals. You remain in a light, conversational trance — awake, aware, and in control throughout. There are no tricks, no commands, and no performance. Nothing will happen that you haven’t agreed to.
The only thing they have in common is the word ‘hypnosis’. The experience, the ethics, and the purpose are entirely different.
