For most of my adult life, I dreaded spring. The moment pollen counts began to rise, so did my symptoms – sneezing, watery eyes, the persistent fog that antihistamines created in my head. I tried everything conventional medicine had to offer. Some things helped a little. Nothing came close to resolving it. It was not until I began training in NLP and hypnotherapy that I understood it might be possible to eliminate hay fever naturally – by working with the mind rather than against the body.
A Different Way of Looking at Hay Fever #
Most conventional frameworks treat hay fever as a fixed physiological response: the immune system has made a mistake, and you manage it with medication for the rest of your life. What NLP introduced me to was a completely different model. The allergic response is not a mistake – it is a learned pattern. At some point, the nervous system decided that pollen represented a threat. Once that decision was encoded, the body faithfully executed the response every season.
The crucial insight is this: what was learned can be unlearned. The immune system is in continuous communication with the mind. The nervous system updates its programming based on experience – and hypnotherapy and NLP are tools for working directly with that programming.
The Method I Developed #
My approach draws on several disciplines working together. The first element is submodality work from NLP – changing the internal representations that trigger the allergic response. The second is deep clinical hypnotherapy, which accesses the subconscious patterns that maintain the response at a level below conscious awareness. I also incorporated breathwork and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to address the energy dimension of the pattern, and spiritual hypnosis for clients who were open to deeper inner work.
None of these techniques is new in isolation. What I found was that combining them in a structured, progressive way – moving from the conscious to the subconscious, from the representational to the physiological – produced results that no single approach could match.
What I Experienced – and What My Clients Experienced #
The first time I applied these techniques to my own hay fever, the shift surprised me. Within a few weeks, symptoms that had defined my spring for years had diminished to the point where I stopped reaching for medication. That was not a fluke – it repeated the following season, and the one after that.
When I began working with clients on the same pattern, the results were consistent enough that I knew this deserved a structured programme. Some clients saw dramatic reductions in a single season. Others found a more gradual shift over two or three years of practice. What was consistent was the direction of change – toward less reactivity, more ease, and eventually a spring that felt like any other time of year.
The Seasonal Allergy Freedom Course #
This personal and clinical experience became the foundation for the Seasonal Allergy Freedom Course – a three-week self-paced programme that packages this approach in a format anyone can work through from home. It covers NLP reframing, clinical hypnotherapy audio sessions, breathwork, and EFT, progressing through the layers of the allergic pattern week by week.
I built it because I wished something like it had existed when I was still suffering. If you are curious about whether it could work for you, I offer a free clarity call to discuss your situation before you decide to enrol.
