Guided Hypnosis

Something beneath the surface is keeping you stuck — and willpower alone can’t reach it.

In Guided Hypnosis, your subconscious leads the way. The answers come from you.

Who Is This For?

What Is Guided Hypnosis?

I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist, but I choose to practise Guided Hypnosis. The difference matters — and it matters to you.

Traditional Hypnotherapy is a Monologue. Often, a therapist diagnoses you (e.g., “Anxiety”), puts you into a deep trance, and reads a generic script at you. They treat the label, not the person — assuming everyone with the same problem shares the same root cause.

Guided Hypnosis is a Dialogue. I never presume the full story — because often, even you don’t fully know it yet. We work in a lighter state of trance where you remain awake, aware, and able to speak throughout.

  • It is Interactive: You don’t just listen — you communicate. I use kinesiology — where your subconscious speaks directly through subtle, involuntary twitches of the muscles, often in the hand — to open a direct line of communication, discovering what you truly need rather than what I assume you need.

  • It is Led By You: I don’t lead the session — your subconscious does. We follow wherever it needs to go: a forgotten memory, a buried emotion, or a part of you that has been quietly working against your goals.

  • It is Surprising: Sessions rarely go where the conscious mind expects. Clients move through memories, metaphors, and emotions they hadn’t anticipated — and find, on the other side, that it all makes perfect sense.

  • It is Private: Because your subconscious guides the work, you don’t need to share every painful detail of your past. The healing comes entirely from within you.

"You get what you need, not just what you ask for. The result is often surprising, but always transformative."

How Guided Hypnosis Works

Every session follows the same principle: I don’t come with a plan — we build it together, with your subconscious guiding every step.

There are no scripts and no assumptions about what your issue means or where it comes from. We open an honest conversation with the part of your mind that actually holds the answers.

1

The Alignment

Before we go deeper, we set a clear intention together and use kinesiology — your subconscious communicating directly through subtle, involuntary muscle responses — to confirm every part of you is aligned and free from any inner conflict that could block the work.

2

The Blueprint

Once your subconscious confirms it’s ready, we open a direct line of communication using one of many tailored methods — your conscious mind rests in a safe place while your subconscious takes the lead. No two sessions look the same.

3

The Confirmation

We never leave a session half-finished. I don’t bring you out of hypnosis until your subconscious has confirmed the work is complete — and that everything you came to address has been fully and properly dealt with. Your subconscious tells us when it’s done.

Why Work With Me?

I’ve always had a deep, restless curiosity about what the human mind can truly do — and honestly, I haven’t stopped exploring since my very first session.

While many practitioners settle into the same methods year after year, I treat my practice as a living laboratory. I’ve trained across many different traditions — from clinical academies to experimental pioneers — and I don’t belong to any single ‘camp.’ What matters to me is what actually works for you.

What this means when we work together:

  • I follow your healing, not a script: My loyalty is to your result, not to any particular method or association. If a technique works, I use it. If it doesn’t serve you, we let it go.

  • A constantly evolving toolkit: Because I’m not bound by rigid tradition, I can embrace new discoveries the moment they prove effective.

  • A genuine space to explore: We aren’t here just to ‘fix’ a problem. We’re here to discover what becomes possible when your mind is truly free.

“I don’t believe in one right way. I believe in whatever works for you.”

Why You Can Trust This Process

You Remain in Control

This is a collaborative process. You stay fully aware and can speak, move, or end the session at any moment. You are always the co-pilot — never 'under' a spell.

Fully Insured & Certified

I'm a professionally trained and fully insured practitioner. This is a focused, clinical therapeutic environment — not a stage show.

Precision, Not Scripts

I treat the person, not the label. Every session is built around your specific neurology and language patterns — no generic scripts, no guesswork.

Stories From the Session Room

Every session is unique. These are representative of real clients — names and identifying details have been changed to protect confidentiality.

"I'd had CBT for three years. It helped me understand my anxiety — but I couldn't stop it happening. After the first session, I presented at a board meeting and noticed the fear just wasn't there."
Sarah, 38 — Senior Marketing Manager
Presentation anxiety; had tried two courses of CBT and one previous hypnotherapy session that "didn't take"
"My physio cleared me to train. My mind hadn't. I kept bracing for impact that wasn't coming. The session took me to the exact moment it started — something I hadn't even realised was there."
James, 27 — Semi-professional Rugby Player
Returning from a serious knee injury; performance anxiety and fear of re-injury that sports psychology hadn't shifted
"I couldn't tell you exactly what was wrong. I just knew I was going through the motions for everyone else and had lost sight of who I was. By session three I felt like myself for the first time in years."
Rachel, 44 — Small Business Owner
Feeling disconnected and overwhelmed; had tried counselling and two online therapy programmes
"Two therapists had told me I couldn't be hypnotised. They were right that their approach didn't work for me. This was completely different — I was talking, aware, and in control the whole time. And something genuinely shifted."
David, 52 — Management Consultant
Had been told he was "too analytical" for hypnosis; came seeking closure after the end of a long-term relationship

Some Guided Hypnosis Testimonials

I came to fix a specific anxiety trigger that was ruining my presentations. I've read all the self-help books, but in the heat of the moment, the fear always took over. Martin's approach is incredibly practical. The next time I walked on stage, the physical panic just wasn't there. It felt like my brain had finally been updated.

I am a total control freak, so the idea of hypnosis terrified me. I thought I would be zonked out while someone messed with my head. It wasn't like that at all. Martin was incredibly supportive and I'm delighted with the results. Recommended.

Wow, we got some fast results. I've been overwhelmed with work and family pressures and the weight just lifted right off my shoulders after our first session. I've been carrying this stress for years and it feels incredible to be walking with a spring in my step again. Thank you Martin.

A Little About My Hypnosis Experience

Martin Pavion

Martin Pavion

My journey with hypnosis began at university, where I arrived painfully shy. I spent twelve months using self-hypnosis to overcome it, and it worked beyond anything I’d expected. That experience lit a fire in me that has never gone out.

I spent my university years teaching myself both therapeutic and stage hypnosis, though for a long time I kept it as a hobby rather than a calling. Nearly a decade later, I stopped ignoring the pull and flew to Malaysia to qualify as a hypnotherapist — then spent six months practising in Bangkok.

Life took over for a while. Children arrived, other interests took hold, and I stepped back from the field. I retrained back in the UK as my marriage was coming to an end — driven by a mix of regret and purpose. I wished I had the skills to better support my wife, and I wanted to dedicate more of myself to helping others.

Hypnosis has always felt natural to me — intuitive in a way that’s hard to explain. Over the years I’ve trained across a wide range of disciplines: conversational, clinical, stage, erotic, spiritual, emergency, and NLP. From all of that, I’ve built my own protocols. What I love most is that no two sessions are ever the same — there’s always something new for both my clients and myself.

Common Questions

Guided Hypnosis

  • How is this different from traditional hypnotherapy?

Traditional hypnotherapy often relies on the therapist guessing your problem and reading a generic script at you. Guided Hypnosis stops guessing. We engage your subconscious in a two-way dialogue to locate the specific root cause of your issue. We don’t assume we know the answer-we let your subconscious reveal it.

  • Do I have to speak while I’m in hypnosis?

Not necessarily. You can, and this often gets us clear answers quickly.

We also use Ideomotor Responses- small involuntary micromovements in your fingers (like lifting an index finger for “Yes”). This allows your subconscious to answer my questions directly without your conscious mind interfering or you having to verbalise difficult emotions. It is precise, silent, and deeply effective.

  • Is 3 sessions really enough?

    Usually, Yes.

We are communicating directly with the subconscious via ideomotor signals, we bypass the “story” and get straight to the neurological root of the pattern.

Most clients reach a point of resolution and integration by the end of session three. I don’t believe in keeping you in therapy for months when the work can be done in weeks.

  • Do I need to “believe” in hypnosis for it to work?

No. In fact, sceptics often make the best clients because they are analytical. This isn’t spiritual magic; it’s a neurological process. We are simply utilising the natural “flow state” your brain enters daily (like when you drive home on autopilot) to update outdated software running in the background.

  • Can I do this alongside medication or other therapy?

Yes. This work complements psychiatric care and traditional talk therapy. However, we do not work with individuals suffering from active psychosis or certain severe mental health conditions. We will discuss your specific situation during your Clarity Call to ensure this is safe for you.er

  • What is kinesiology and why do you use it in sessions?

Kinesiology is a way for your subconscious mind to communicate with us directly – not through words, but through subtle, involuntary twitches of the muscles, often in the hand. Before we begin the hypnosis itself, we use kinesiology to check in with your subconscious: whether you are truly aligned and ready, whether there is any inner conflict or resistance that needs to be addressed first, and whether every part of you is on board with the work ahead.

This gives us a clear picture of what is actually going on beneath the surface – often before you are even consciously aware of it. Clients frequently find this the most surprising and reassuring part of the process.

  • Why three sessions and not just one?

The first session lays the foundation – we identify the root causes, set a clear intention, and begin the real work. But healing is rarely complete in a single sitting. The time between sessions allows your subconscious to integrate what came up and continue processing beneath the surface.

The second and third sessions allow us to confirm the changes have locked in, address anything that has surfaced, and ensure there are no remaining blockages or secondary issues. This structure is why the results tend to be lasting rather than temporary.

  • I’ve been told I can’t be hypnotised – can Guided Hypnosis still help me?

Almost certainly yes. People who have been told they can’t be hypnotised are often my most rewarding clients – and that’s not a coincidence. The belief itself is often the thing we work through first.

Guided Hypnosis is fundamentally different from traditional hypnotherapy. There’s no script, no induction designed for an “average” person, and no requirement for deep trance. The level of hypnosis is adapted completely to you – and we use kinesiology at the start to identify and resolve any inner resistance before we begin. If you’re willing to try, we can almost always find a way in.

  • What if the internet disconnects during a session?

Before we begin the hypnotic part of any session, I include a simple instruction: if you are unable to hear my voice for more than 30 seconds, you can gently emerge from hypnosis on your own – just as you would wake from a comfortable, restful nap. Once you’re back, simply check your phone and message me so we can reconnect and continue.

In practice, full disconnections are rare, and re-entering hypnosis is usually straightforward. We’ll always make sure you feel confident with this before we begin.

  • What if the audio quality is poor or I can’t hear you clearly?

We do a sound check at the start of every session to make sure both of us can hear clearly before anything begins. If audio quality becomes an issue mid-session, we can switch to a telephone call to continue – or in the rare worst case, reschedule at no extra cost.

During the hypnosis itself, if I can’t hear you clearly I’ll gently ask you to speak up or repeat yourself. I often repeat back what you’ve said aloud, both to confirm understanding and to ensure a clean recording.

All sessions are recorded so that I can prepare a personalised written summary and, where useful, a full transcription for you afterwards.

Still Unsure?

Hypnosis is a very personal experience, and it’s completely natural to have questions before taking that first step. Whether you want to know what a session actually feels like, or simply want to see if we’d be a good fit — I’d love to have a chat. My only goal is for you to feel genuinely safe and confident before we ever begin.
